Another way to get out to new icefields is the Twin Otter. Space is tight, but usually with a couple of trips you can move your camp a few hundred miles in a day. Its not always clear whether its a thrill to be going somewhere new, or a drag to be packing and unpacking all the time, but everybody feels a little anxious.
