This is a more typical scene of an ANSMET camp. Meteorite stranding surfaces need wind to keep the snow off of the surface and to help sublimation stay active. That's good news for meteorites, but bad news for your skin. About one out of every 3 days is too windy for work, although this varies dramatically from year to year. We've had whole seasons without a tent day, and other seasons where we work one day out of 10. By the way, if you care to ask, that snow-block construction in back of camp is the "poo-gloo".
