Once we've unloaded the LC-130, our next step is to get out to the field area, usually a traverse that takes a day or so. Each person has a snowmobile of their own, and two or more nansen sledges. We tow these, piled high with food, fuel, and other necessities, from the landing site to the meteorite stranding surface that is our primary goal for the season.
