Unfortunately, the same winds that keep the ice free of snow will also have to dump that snow someplace else, usually in the form of dunes and waves of snow. The name for these dunes is "Sastrugi", and while they can be very beautiful, and fun to look at, they are also a royal pain in the butt to get sleds over.
