If we're lucky, the blue ice we've come to is free of terrestrial rock, and we can search for meteorites by forming a line of 6 or so folks spread 30 or 40 meters apart, and then slowly crossing the ice in a series of overlapping systematic sweeps. That's the fun way to find meteorites, and you always wonder if the next one will be lying in your path.
