D'Angelo Bluff Icefield
D'Angelo Bluff (87°18'S 154° 00'W) is relatively small east-west trending nunatak located near the head of the Scott Glacier and west of Mt. Howe. Bare ice of limited extent is exposed to the southwest of the nunatak as well as along a narrow strip at the north margin of the bluff. The area is shown in DNG59-Figure 1 (353 KB JPEG), a portion of the 1:250000 scale U.S.G.S. D'Angelo Bluff quadrangle.
The D'Angelo Bluff area was briefly visited by an ANSMET reconnaissance team during the 2006-2007 season. Four specimens were discovered during the detailed, systematic search of the area to the southwest of the nunatak. These are given in meteorite listing below.
Acknowledgments; ANSMET members Lysa Chizmadia, Barbara Cohen, Silvio Lorenzetti, and John Schutt conducted the reconnaissance searches.
